Notes for Nova Fischler Students If you are a Nova Fischler student, you have a unique hurdle. After your professors sign off on your paper, you submit it to the ARC for final format review. This process is rigorous; your document must have practically perfect formatting and APA style. If you've gone through three editors and still had your paper rejected, do not worry. I guarantee I can get your document approved, usually on the first pass. First, I'm sure you read the Fischler Applied Dissertation Guide cover to cover when you started on your dissertation. (Ahem! If not, read it now.) The guide spells out the structure of your dissertation for you. Then, carefully read the Style Guide. Otherwise you will miss important information; for instance, your keywords must be listed in the ERIC Thesaurus. Do not use an editor who has no experience with Fischler. For instance, Microsoft Word automatically formats tables with a left and right interior cell margin of .08 inch. That margin will cause your dissertation to be rejected. Moreover, a 1-inch bottom margin setting in Word actually prints at between 1.1 inches and 1.2 inches. So you have to set the bottom margin at between 0.85 inch and 0.91 inch...depending on your printer. Different printers may print differently, up to a tenth of an inch. (Some editors will print the document out for you and mail it to ARC for you as well. I don't offer that service, but I also charge considerably less. All you have to do is print some test pages of the final doc I e-mail to you and measure the top and bottom margins with a ruler, old-school style.) So be prepared. Just take a deep breath, go to your mental happy place, and know that you will get through. TESTIMONIALS & FEEDBACK from Fischler clients: Thanks again for your hard work on my behalf. I will be sure to recommend your services to others; it has been an outstanding professional experience working with you. Dr. K. Urban, Outstanding Dissertation Award You are good.
